Job summary

Guthrie County Hospital in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily living activities under the supervision of a nurse. You will assist with mobility, hygiene, meals, and basic care while ensuring safety and compassionate communication with patients and families.

This role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to care plans, accurate documentation, and timely reporting of changes in condition.

Qualifications

Current, active certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Iowa.
75 hours of on-the-job training.
Certification must be in good standing with Iowa DCW Registry.
Minimum age 16 and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Contribute to and provide services in accordance with the written plan of care.
Recognize significant changes in patient condition and notify nursing staff.
Recognize the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the patients served.
Perform, read, and record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry.
Perform EKG, glucometer testing, and venipuncture.
Maintain infection control measures and a clean work environment.
Assist with Activities of Daily Living including transfers, meals, dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing, and skin care.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff; collaborate with health team members.
