Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Patient Care Technician to support a patient-centered care approach under RN supervision. You will measure vital signs, assist with ADLs, monitor patient comfort, and help with repositioning and safety. Strong communication and empathy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• 1 year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition.
• Support nursing staff with basic treatments.
• Ensure adequate patient care supplies and linen.
• Provide emotional support and report concerns to care team.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning as needed.
