Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls cares for patients with compassion, delivering routine patient care under the supervision of nurses and physicians. The role supports daily activities, safety, and quality care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required or equivalent.
• CNA certification preferred; licensing board recommended.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with accommodations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding, and other care needs.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and safeguard patient belongings.
• Greet visitors, answer inquiries, and assist with gifts, flowers, and mail for patients; run errands as needed.
• Ambulate patients and assist transfers; measure intakes and outputs; collect specimens as directed.
• Manage phone calls, paging, and coordination of appointments and services.
