Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and support to the care team. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and documentation while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

The incumbent will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, participate in unit coordination, and help with admissions, discharges, and transfers, following hospital policies and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Attend 2 weeks of training for candidates with limited or no experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care and activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives (e.g., bedside shift report, hourly rounds).
• Accurately document vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints and treatments; report changes to nursing staff.
• Participate in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
