Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Medical City McKinney is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Med Surg unit to join a collaborative nursing team. You will assist RNs with daily patient needs, monitor conditions, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients under a 12-hour day shift with rotating weekends.

The role emphasizes patient comfort, dignity, and teamwork, with the opportunity to grow while supporting experienced nurses in delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Diploma/GED
• currently enrolled in Accredited Nursing Program preferred
• 1+ years of acute care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
