Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Tennessee is seeking a Nursing Support/Care Partner on Med/Surg 1 North to assist nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implement orders, and evaluate care. Reports directly to the charge nurse and Clinical Director of the unit.

This position works in conjunction with other members of the nursing service, ancillary staff, physicians, patients, and families. It requires self-direction and strong interpersonal communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Less than 1 year in healthcare or patient care preferred.
• Interpersonal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains vital signs, intake and outputs, and daily weights.
• Reports abnormal findings to the nurse or charge nurse.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, bathing, and toileting.
• Transcribes physician orders, answers patient call lights and relays messages to staff.
