Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a busy hospital unit. You will document vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, monitor intake and output, and support safe patient handling and transport as needed.

The role requires CNA certification or equivalent, HIPAA knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Basic EMT Certification or Nursing Student with clinical experience
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and assists nursing staff with patient duties.
• Obtains and documents complete vital signs.
• Monitors intake and output and patient status changes.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, hygiene, ambulation).
• Assists with transportation of patients and specimens as needed.
