Visiting Angels Birmingham is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support local seniors across Northern Birmingham. The position focuses on compassionate caregiving, companionship and practical help in daily living.

You will assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, and transportation. The role offers growth through dementia/alzheimer’s care training and ongoing skill development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First aid and emergency response knowledge.
• Ability to follow health and safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physical endurance.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility for appointments and activities.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
