Job summary

City of Hope in Irvine, CA invites applications for a Patient Care Assistant I. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, you will provide accurate, courteous, timely services to patients and families, supporting high-quality care in a high-risk clinical environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the care team, maintaining knowledge of policies, and contributing to performance improvement.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or equivalent required.
• Non-licensed graduate of RN or LVN program.
• Enrollment in an approved RN program and completion of at least one med-surg clinical rotation.
• Active Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• AHA BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate, reliable, courteous and timely services to all customers.
• Delivers in a knowledgeable, consistent and skillful manner under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• Demonstrates competence appropriate to their role and function in high risk and/or problem-prone behaviors.
• Delivers patient care in a manner consistent with the scope of practice and City of Hope policies.
• Maintains current knowledge of organizational and regulatory standards and participates in meetings and education.
• Participates in a collaborative, empowered work environment with teamwork.
• Communicates effectively with customers and team members to meet goals and patient satisfaction.
• Maintains knowledge and skills through ongoing education activities.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in resource use.
• Participates in performance improvement activities to improve service delivery.
• Displays City of Hope values in work performance.
