Job summary

Valley Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Float Pool at the VMC Main Campus in Renton, WA. The role provides routine nursing support under supervision of a nurse or CAR, assisting with patient care in a fast-paced float pool environment.

Required CNA license in Washington and BLS certification; phlebotomy certification is required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire. Prior patient care is preferred; performs routine duties and supports a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• CNA license in Washington state is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• One year of patient care experience is preferred.
• MA – Phlebotomy certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record and report significant patient signs and symptoms and changes in condition.
• Maintain safe use of patient care equipment and monitor alarms.
• Communicate concerns about patient or family behavior or compliance to the RN/LPN/CAR.
• Respond to emergencies including cardiac/pulmonary events and physiologic crises.
• Demonstrate understanding of developmental stages across age groups.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures as requested in accordance with protocol.
