Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is hiring Nursing Assistants to support patients in inpatient units including Med Surg, Float Pool, PCU and ICU. You will perform delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, delivering basic care and helping maintain a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications include being 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED preferred, strong multitasking, teamwork, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate, collaborate and manage relationships with interdisciplinary members while maintaining patient/family centeredness and safety in a timely, efficient and equitable manner.
• Keyboard experience preferred.
• BLS certification included in orientation program; successful completion required prior to first day in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Open positions are available across our inpatient units, including Med Surg, Float Pool, PCU, and ICU.
• Nursing Assistant assists patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• The nursing assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
• This includes assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to patients and assisting in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
