Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, mobility, and basic care under RN supervision.

You will monitor vital signs, prepare rooms, and support nursing staff while documenting intake/output and daily weights. CPR certification and a HS diploma are required; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, upon hire or
• High School GED, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight
• Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
