Job summary

UF Health seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support Registered Nurses by performing routine procedures under supervision. This role is full-time 36 hours/week, with variable shifts.

The PCA assists in delivering high-quality patient care and upholds nursing's commitment to patient advocacy and innovative care within a climate of trust and collaboration. Preference given to EMT/Paramedic or CNA with diploma; nursing students may participate; NCLEX status matters for current employees.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required for those not enrolled in or recently graduated from a nursing program.
• EMT or Paramedic licensure qualifies for consideration.
• Nursing students in approved programs may join after didactic and clinical coursework.
• Current employees awaiting NCLEX authorization or who failed NCLEX may apply within specified windows.
• High school diploma or equivalent is acceptable for entry.
• Note: CNA certification is required for non-nursing students.
