Job summary

Visiting Angels Athens seeks a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support seniors in Athens and surrounding areas, including Monroe. Responsibilities include medication assistance, mobility support, personal care, meal prep, and light housekeeping, while offering companionship and safe, compassionate care.

Applicants will have a passion for serving others, strong emergency knowledge, and good communication. Advanced training opportunities in dementia or Alzheimer’s care are available to grow caregiving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passion to serve others and provide compassionate care.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
• Good time management and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
