Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Suffolk, Inc. is seeking a part-time Driver to transport participants to and from Adult Day Services in Suffolk County, NY.

You will operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles and assist participants as needed. Requirements include a valid NYS driver’s license with a clean record, a High School Diploma or GED preferred, and the ability to assist participants with entering/exiting vehicles and two-person lifts.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow agency policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate professionally with families, residential providers, advocates, and team members.
• Comfortable assisting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport participants to and from day programs and community outings.
• Operate wheelchair-accessible agency vehicles, including lifts and tie-down systems.
• Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles safely.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during transportation.
• Complete vehicle inspections, maintain logbooks, and report maintenance concerns.
• Fuel and maintain cleanliness of agency vehicles.
• Communicate professionally with families, residential providers, advocates, and team members.
• Work collaboratively with program staff to support participant needs.
