Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource for staff and students across our programs. The OT will design plans of care, adapt interventions to patient progress, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective discharge.

BLS must be current within 30 days, and active OT license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Active OT license to practice in the applicable state.
• BLS certification current within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Designs an appropriate plan of care with goals, outcomes and discharge.
• Educates patients, families and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings and determines PT/OT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations and uses valid assessment methods relevant to complaints.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care according to policy and regulations.
• Supervises COTA and rehab technicians per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicates patient status, discharge recommendations and equipment needs to the medical team.
