Job summary

Bronson Orthopedic and Joints Specialists in Kalamazoo is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine nursing tasks, patient intake, and chart documentation. You will collect vital signs, histories, and assist with examinations under physician supervision.

The ideal candidate has a MA program completion or CMA/RMA certification (or eligibility within 6 months), and strong communication skills. BLS within 90 days is required; EMR experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification; eligible within 6 months.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Strong interpersonal and confidentiality skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Under provider direction, perform general nursing functions for the practice.
• Record vital signs and immunizations; assess patients and obtain history.
• Educate patients and families on medications, treatments and care.
• Document information in patient charts and ensure chart accuracy.
• Assist physicians with procedures and prepare patients for examinations.
