Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
• Previous experience in the operating room or perioperative setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments and review patient histories.
• Ensure the operating room is properly set up with necessary instruments.
• Assist with positioning the patient safely on the operating table.
• Monitor and maintain a sterile field, ensuring infection control protocols.
• Provide support to the surgical team and document operative details.
• Ensure availability of necessary supplies and anticipate the needs of the team.
• Act as a patient advocate ensuring safety and comfort.
• Coordinate communication with the surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Maintain accurate patient records including surgical notes.
• Assist with postoperative care and transfer to recovery room.
• Adhere to hospital policies and regulations.
