Job summary

Pine Grove Nursing Center in Center, TX is seeking a Cook who is passionate about creating quality meals for our residents. The Cook will follow standard menus, prepare and serve meals, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following all regulations.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Able to communicate tactfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods using standardized recipes and production worksheets.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures and temperature controls.
• Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors.
• Serve meals and ensure proper portion control and presentation.
• Close the kitchen in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.
