Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care in Minnesota Canby. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

Duties include helping with bathing, grooming, feeding, documenting vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining a clean, safe patient environment; one-on-one care when needed.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma preferred, but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Maintains department-specific competencies and certifications.
• ND and WI registry requirements apply for certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities; bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Collect non-invasive specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform scheduling/documentation clerical work related to patient healthcare.
• Prepare patient treatment areas, clean equipment, dispose of biomedical waste.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
• Provide one-on-one care when necessary.
