Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the patient care team. Under RN supervision, you provide direct and indirect care, document vital signs, assist with daily living activities and maintain a safe, clean environment.

You will communicate patient status to the RN, follow safety guidelines, and participate in orientation and ongoing learning. BLS certification is required; no prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic independently.
• Polite, patient, and courteous with active listening skills.
• Clear communication with staff, patients and families.
• Provide customer service under high volume and stress.
• Learn standard nursing procedures used in patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Observe, record and report patient information accurately.
• Adhere to hospital policies and nursing standards.
• Assess and document vital signs for stable patients (every 4 hours).
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic patient care.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized patient environment.
• Communicate changes to RN or resource nurse promptly.
• Perform routine patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide sitter duties when needed.
• Support staff and participate in orientation and learning activities.
