Job summary

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Nursing Assistants to join the care team providing support across preventive, acute, sub-acute, chronic and hospice settings in our Texas facilities.

Applicants may be referred while meeting requirements; the full grade ranges from GS-3 to GS-5 based on experience and education. Duties include assisting with nursing care, observation, and effective communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience demonstrating ability to perform NA work.
• Education above high school with health-related courses or related training.
• Completion of a short, occupation-related training course may meet experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of patient/resident care under supervision.
• Observe patients/residents and report deviations promptly to the supervisor.
• Use equipment and supplies properly for basic treatments and monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and health professionals.
