Job summary

Kindred Hospital Albuquerque is seeking a compassionate CNA to assist nursing staff in providing patient care in a long-term acute care setting. You will support activities of daily living, monitor patients, and help with admissions, transfers, and discharge under the supervision of registered nurses.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (preferred) and CNA certification (preferred) with good communication, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with department colleagues.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Take and record vital signs and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms and transfer admissions; maintain cleanliness and comfort.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Respond to patient call lights and paging system promptly.
• Under RN direction, perform routine treatment procedures as needed.
• Assist with patient transport and post-mortem care as required.
