Job summary

Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking compassionate Mental Health Technicians to join our team. You will provide direct, life-changing care in a safe, supportive environment, working closely with nursing and clinical teams.

You will monitor patients, document mood changes, assist during behavioral escalations using de-escalation techniques, and help maintain a therapeutic environment across day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of behavioral health or acute hospital experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care to patients with mental health conditions.
• Monitor patient behavior and document changes in health or mood.
• Safely assist patients during behavioral escalations using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain a healthy, structured and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate information regarding patients' behavior to the treatment team.
• Encourage and facilitate patients' participation in therapeutic activities.
• Orient new patients to facility, program and setting.
• Day shift (7:00am-7:30pm) and Night shift (7:00pm-7:30am) available.
