Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and maintain a compassionate environment for patients and families.

The RN will perform thorough assessments, administer medications, assist in procedures, educate patients, and participate in performance improvement to improve outcomes while adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN license in Tennessee or Compact State Licensure required
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Document findings accurately and report changes to the care team
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects
• Assist physicians during procedures within documented competency
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment
• Maintain complete and timely documentation in the medical record
• Engage in professional development to stay current with nursing standards and regulations
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
