The Ivy Golden Gate in California is seeking a Medication Technician to supervise and assist in administering medications to residents, in accordance with nursing standards and company policies. The role also involves providing direct personal care and encouraging resident participation in activities.

You will collaborate with residents, families, pharmacy, and physicians to coordinate med services, maintain accurate records, and uphold safety.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year of experience assisting with medication at a RCFE.
• State regulation may require completion of training/certification.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills and strong desire to care for the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
