Elderwood Village at Colonie in Latham, NY is seeking a Medication Technician to join our nursing team, ensuring safe, timely medication assistance and compassionate personal care for residents in a 94-bed assisted living community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of a medication technician training program within the last 12 months preferred.
• Must pass Elderwood Medication Technician test.
• Certification by an approved basic training program in home health aide services is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Long term care experience preferred.
• If working in a SNF, a CNA or LNA is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs/assists with safe, proper administration of medication to residents.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician.
• Responsible for storage and distribution of controlled substances and proper labeling.
• Respond to residents' requests in a timely manner.
• Document according to service excellence standards.
