Job summary

Viva Senior Living is seeking a Registered Medication Aide to join our Nursing department on site in Chesapeake, VA. The role requires certification as a Resident Care Associate, knowledge of state medication techniques, and strong English communication within a compassionate care setting.

You will administer medications, monitor residents, and document outcomes while ensuring safety and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Must have completed coursework and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate per state regulations.
• Must complete continued education and maintain certification per State regulations.
• Must possess knowledge of state medication technique.
• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician.
• Observes, records and reports symptoms and conditions related to medication interactions or side effects.
• Determines and records effectiveness of medications and upholds resident rights during administration.
• Stores medications safely and in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Monitors medications and maintains accountability across shifts and stock.
• Inspects equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety and reports issues.
• Obtains, records, and reports vital signs during medication administration.
• Communicates accurately with residents and staff and seeks clarification when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned and arrives on time.
