Job summary

Lotus Village is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to assist residents with their medication needs and provide compassionate, high-quality care in a long-term care setting. You will administer prescribed medications, monitor health, and ensure adherence to medication protocols and facility policies.

You will document administration and observations, maintain MAR records, and communicate with residents, families, and the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current CMA certification as required by state regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a state-approved CMA training program.
• Experience in healthcare or assisted living preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral, topical, inhaled, and other forms of medication as prescribed.
• Follow proper procedures for medication administration, including verifying resident identity and medication orders.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MAR) and report discrepancies.
• Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects.
• Report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
• Ensure safe storage of medications and manage inventory.
• Prepare medications for administration and document accordingly.
• Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team about medication and health status.
