Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant in Houston to provide direct nursing support in a medical office setting under physician supervision. You will assist providers, maintain a safe environment, and help ensure an excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities include patient need assessments, charting, and preparing equipment for treatments. Requires a high school diploma/GED with an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent experience; CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program, or three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of the program.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Preferred: Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan.
• Completes all necessary documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and procedures.
• Arranges for specialized consultations and testing as ordered by the physicians.
