Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or 1 year experience in a clinical capacity.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Special Skills - Computer literate; skilled in use of Microsoft Outlook, electronic health records and other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Properly identifies patient by requesting patient name, DOB prior to any patient interactions.
• HIPAA: Ensures confidentiality of protected health information.
• Documentation: Completes and documents patient visit notes accurately including chief complaint, histories, vital signs, immunizations, allergies, medications.
• Waived testing: Administers and documents waived testing under physician supervision.
• Clinical setup: Prepares, stocks, and cleans exam rooms and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Medication administration: Prepares and administers medications per orders and policies.
• Procedures: Assists physician with minor surgical procedures and handles specimens and cultures.
• Care coordination: Manages patient flow, schedules, referrals, and tests efficiently.
• Regulatory/compliance: Supports regulatory needs and quality improvement initiatives.
• Safety: Follows safety, infection control standards and MSDS procedures.
