Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinic setting. You will assist during visits, collect data, perform basic procedures under a provider's direction, and help ensure a clean, safe environment.

The role requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience; Heartsaver and NCCT certifications are required, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Technical degree or diploma in Medical Assistant preferred.
• 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Heartsaver - American Heart Association certification required.
• NCCT Medical Assistant certification required.
• Preferred: CCMA, NCMA, MA/AMT, CMA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during visits and accompany to exam rooms.
• Schedule appointments, imaging exams, lab callbacks, and prior authorizations.
• Record patient data (height, weight, vitals, medical history) and document accurately.
• Assist with examinations and prepare rooms and equipment.
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressings as directed.
• Collect specimens for lab analysis and assist with procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations under physician direction.
• Provide patient education and refill prescriptions as authorized.
