Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the medical team with patient triage, vital signs, history taking, EKGs, injections, and EHR documentation. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and Medical Assisting certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) with at least 1 year of experience preferred.

BLS certification is commonly expected. The successful candidate will work closely with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate charting, and timely scheduling

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical assisting certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) required.
• 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain medical history.
• Record vital signs and EKG.
• Document patient information in the EHR.
• Assist physician with minor procedures.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate admissions or tests.
• Reconcile medication lists in the EHR.
• Explain procedures and education to patients.
