Job summary

Mercy Health in Oregon seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support the primary care team. The role collaborates with physicians to ensure accurate health records, vital signs are taken, and treatment rooms are prepared for examinations.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, active MA certification, and basic computer and communication skills. BLS is required or preferred depending on the location; on-site work in a fast-paced clinic environment is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA/NCCT/NCMA) required or ABR-OE acceptable in some cases.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification (required at hire in some Mercy locations; preferred prior to independent patient care)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with excellent customer service.
• Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits; verify diagnostic test results and records.
• Measure vital signs including pulse, respiration, BP, weight and height.
• Perform clerical duties: manage inventory, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
