Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Medical Assistant to perform patient care and related administrative duties under supervision of a physician, APRN, or PA. You will handle room preparation, patient education, and coordination of registrations and scheduling to support efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities include administering medications as ordered, collecting vital signs, and documenting in the medical record, with emphasis on patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced endocrinology setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES or US DoE recognized).
• SC Department of Education Health Sciences Program approval.
• Military training in medical assisting.
• Registered Apprenticeship in Medical Assisting (DOL-approved).
• PHCI CMA Fast Track CMA program completion.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical, technical, administrative and clerical duties as directed by the physician and within training scope, including point-of-care testing.
• Prepare patients for examination; record chief complaints, medications, vital signs, allergies; pend orders for signature.
• Assist physicians with examinations, tests, procedures and office-based surgery; apply splints, casts, dressings and remove sutures with competency.
