Job summary

Weston County Health Services is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join the Newcastle Clinic. The MA will support clinicians in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care across the care team, with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an MA program and BLS certification, plus at least six months of medical experience.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program Certification within 90 days of employment.
• BLS Certification current or obtained upon hire.
• Six months experience in medical field required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to WCHS policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with other departments to provide patient-centered care.
• Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
• Maintains warm, welcoming and calm environment on the unit.
• Assists with scheduling admissions, appointments, tests and procedures.
• Prepares rooms, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Maintains patient files and confidentiality.
• Gathers patient history and vital signs and documents in medical records.
