Job summary

Pain Management Group is seeking an experienced, full-time Medical Assistant in Edgerton, WI to join the pain management programs at Edgerton Hospital. The MA will handle routine administrative and clinical tasks, assist in direct patient care, schedule and document patient activity, and support the clinic to meet KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • CMAA certification preferred
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant Certificate Program
  • Medical Assistant with an Associate Degree preferred
  • Previous experience in physician office and billing
  • Previous experience performing venipunctures
  • Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Able to read and follow instructions in English

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivery of direct patient care as directed.
  • Support clinic team to follow KPIs for a sustainable program.
  • Complete accurate documentation in patient records and charges.
  • Identify patient correctly for procedures and ensure proper ID bands.
  • Schedule clinical and procedure appointments and manage daily utilization.
  • Assist secretary for Pre-Registration and Registration per hospital policy.
  • Transmit charge sheets to third party billing service.
  • Answer telephone promptly and relay messages.
  • Assemble New Patient Packets and mail as needed.
  • Prioritize tasks, meet tight timeframes, and adapt to changes.
  • Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, typing, and data gathering.
  • Handle referrals and data entry into hospital systems.

Pain Management Group is looking for an experienced, full-time Medical Assistant to join the pain management programs at Edgerton Hospital (Edgerton, WI).This position performs a variety of routine administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the pain management clinic. The MA is responsible for coordinating and performing general office functions and receptionist duties including greeting patients, maintaining patient schedules & patient reports, typing correspondence, filing, answering phones and transmitting messages. This position is clinically competent and assists in delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.

What you need to be qualified:

  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), preferred
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer required

What else you can expect:

  • Assist in delivery of direct patient care as directed.
  • Support clinic team to follow the performance expectations for reaching the key performance indicators (KPIs) for a sustainable program: market capture goals, seeing four patients per hour, reaching 30% procedure ratio, and completing time out and chart audits to monitor quality of care.
  • Complete accurate documentation in patient records and charges as directed.
  • Correctly identify patient by name for any direct care procedures and/or treatment, check identification of patient by use of their name band and ensure that a patient is always banded with proper name as required.
  • Accurately schedule all clinical and procedure appointments as required. Continuously maintain and monitor schedules to ensure full daily appointment utilization.
  • Support and assist secretary for Pre-Registration and Registration of all clinical and procedure patients per hospital policy and processes.
  • Transmit charge sheets to third party billing service in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Answer telephone promptly, direct calls appropriately, and relay messages.
  • Assemble New Patient Packets and process for mailing daily as needed.
  • Prioritize a wide variety of tasks, meet tight timeframes, adjust to unexpected or unscheduled demands, and revise work accordingly.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as copying, filing, typing, statistical information gathering, and others as requested.
  • Responsible for in-coming and out-going referrals.
  • Enter data into iStats and hospital database when required.
