Horizon Health and Wellness in Oracle, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support day-to-day clinic operations and patient care. You will work with clinicians to provide patient-centered care, perform clinical tasks, and maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.

The role requires certification and a valid driver's license, with fingerprint clearance and background check as part of the onboarding process.

Formación

• HS diploma or GED plus Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program.
• Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, MVD report, home telephone and reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records.
• Must obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and successful completion of a background check.

Responsabilidades

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, histories, med reconciliation, and set up for procedures.
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Administer long-acting injectable meds as ordered.
• Handle telephone messages and communications between patients and providers.
• Follow prescription refill procedures.
• Assist in patient education aligned with the Patient Centered Medical Home philosophy.
• Follow infection control policies and manage meds storage.
• Perform waived testing and other lab functions as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture and other procedures as trained.
• Administer COVID testing and vaccines as ordered.
• Inventory meds and supplies and keep exam rooms stocked.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Ensure progress notes are documented per policy and manage prior authorizations.
