Job summary

Sweetwater Pain and Spine is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our pain management team in a patient‑centered care environment. You will assist physicians during procedures, prepare examination rooms, record vitals and medical histories, and educate patients on treatment plans and follow‑up care.

The ideal candidate holds CMA/RMA or CNA certification, is familiar with electronic health records, and demonstrates empathy, organizational skills, and strong communication to support

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or CNA certification.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pain management.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Empathy and patience in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during pain management procedures, including injections, nerve blocks, and other treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Take and document patient vitals, pain assessments, and medical histories.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medication regimens, and follow-up care.
• Perform basic care and assist in post-procedure monitoring.
• Handle specimens for laboratory testing when needed.
• Send out referrals and radiology orders.
• Submit medication prior authorizations
