Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient examinations and treatment within a busy clinic setting. You will manage patient flow, document history and vital signs, and assist with chart preparation and chart review.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program background or prior experience, BLS certification, and strong computer and communication skills for EMR and office workflows. Training and team collaboration are emphasized in this environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or prior Medical Assisting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired meds, and order supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, queues, and related tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and related equipment for routine tests.
• Perform duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist training new employees or oversee work queues in the office.
