Job summary

Catholic Health Physician Practices is seeking a Medical Assistant who thrives in a team-driven environment and is passionate about patient care. You will support clinical operations, prepare exam rooms, take vitals, assist with procedures, and help with front-desk tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

You should have a NYS-accredited MA program completion and preferably current certification. A strong commitment to compassionate, high-quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
• BCLS certification (in-person training only, American Heart Association).
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
• A team-first attitude and commitment to providing respectful, quality care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.).
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency.
• Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
• Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk when needed — greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance.
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
