Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Tiffin Hospital to support the primary care physician and deliver high-quality patient care in line with the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

The role includes reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, preparing treatment rooms, and performing clerical duties while ensuring welcoming, respectful service to patients and the community.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the recognized bodies.
• BLS certification required at hire (where applicable).
• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience preferred.
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepares and reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying diagnostic test results and other medical records are correct and up to date.
• Measures vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Performs clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
