Job summary

Discovery Commons Virginia Beach is seeking a Care Giver/Med Tech to provide hands-on care and support to residents in a safe, home-like environment. Flexible full-time and part-time shifts are available, with on-the-job training and no experience required for most positions.

The role includes assisting residents with daily living, medication support, and activities, while maintaining hygiene, dignity and safety. Competitive benefits and opportunities for advancement are provided.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Experience with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for a designated group of residents during the shift; check on residents regularly.
• Observe and report symptoms or changes in condition; document accordingly.
• Respond promptly to call bells and notify supervisor of increased care needs.
• Assist with continence management and maintain sanitation.
• Serve meals, report refusals or loss of appetite, and assist with activities of daily living.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas; follow safety precautions.

Education

Certified Nurse’s Aide certification

High School diploma/GED

Must be 18 years of age

CPR Certification

First Aid Certification

Previous experience working with seniors
