Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with coordination of inpatient activities, and support non-direct patient care operations in a stable patient population. Responsibilities include documenting care in the electronic medical record, performing vital signs, ADLs, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and willingness to complete

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as: ADLs, vital signs and measurements.
• Participates in coordination of inpatient unit activities including admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Maintains patient safety and quality by following policies and procedures.
• Documents care in the electronic medical record and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Supports the care team with equipment, supplies and a clean, organized environment.
