Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist E3 unit. The role involves direct patient care, data collection, and collaboration with the nursing team to promote safe and effective discharge planning.

Responsibilities include gathering vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and documenting care while maintaining a clean and safe environment on the unit. Prior CNA training or experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
• Less than 1 year of health care experience or completion of Certified Nurse Assistant course is preferred.
• Experience as a Paramedic or Emergency Technician is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is expected.
• Honest, punctual, and adheres to Albany Medical Center's ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects pertinent data and vital signs.
• Provides personal care including bathing, grooming, feeding, and hydration.
• Assists with ambulation and activities of daily living.
• Reports abnormal findings to the RN and care team.
• Documents care in the patient record.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and adheres to infection control procedures.
