Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the health-care team. You will provide care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or licensed provider, applying nursing judgment and following UPMC guidelines and state regulations.

The role emphasizes care planning, patient education, and collaborative communication with care colleagues. The ideal candidate demonstrates completion of an approved LPN program and current state licensure, with the ability to work in a dynamic hospital

Qualifications

• Successful graduation from an LPN program approved by the State Board.
• Maintain state licensure where practicing.
• Ability to interact with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under RN or licensed provider guidance.
• Communicate with care team to seek guidance when needs exceed LPN scope.
• Follow UPMC guidelines and policies; document care thoroughly.
• Develop daily goals and plan of care with patient involvement.
• Teach patients and families and support learning in episodes of care.
