Job summary

Mercy is seeking an LPN to provide patient care under the supervision of a physician or RN. The role emphasizes the nursing process, patient rights, and confidentiality while coordinating care across departments at Mercy.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited practical nursing program and are expected to obtain or maintain an LPN license in the hiring state. Certifications such as BLS are required, with additional ACLS/PALS/PEARS depending on the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or comparable education experience and licensure.
• Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state.
• Basic Life Support certification due within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV certification must be completed or within 3 months of hire for state practice.
• ACLS/ALS, PALS, PEARS or other unit-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision of a licensed provider or RN.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care.
