Qualifications

• Must hold a current LPN license to practice.
• GPS_CPR and nursing specialty certification are preferred.
• Experience in long-term care settings is favored.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing care for residents on the unit to ensure appropriate nurse aide coverage.
• Uses independent judgment in performing duties on behalf of the organization.
• Provides safe, accurate medication-related interventions and documents them per schedule.
• Administers medications and treatments according to physician orders and standard pass techniques.
• Assesses health status and notifies physician of changes in residents’ conditions.
• Performs wound care, catheter care, oxygen care, and other treatments as ordered.
• Orders and receives medications from pharmacy; manages narcotics accounting.
• Responds promptly to resident pain requests and documents in charts.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders accurately and timely.
• Puts together work assignment sheets considering resident safety and staff abilities.
• Reports staff shortages to nursing management and participates in performance actions.
