Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver supportive and restorative care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The LPN will perform nursing tasks, administer medications within policy, and contribute to patient care plans.

Responsibilities include vital signs, venipuncture, IV therapy under supervision, ADL support, and accurate documentation in the EMR. Commitment to patient safety and quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of educational program for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Successful completion of NYSDOH LPN IV Therapy Initial Program for intravenous therapy competency.
• Annual unit-based review/update program in procedures and policy.
• Experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Licensing: LPN - New York State; BLS (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in applying the nursing process for a group of patients under RN supervision.
• Administers medications per nursing policy, excluding certain IV routes and central lines.
• Performs nursing tasks including vital signs, venipuncture, catheter care, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Completes documentation in EMR and communicates changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and patient care conferences.
