Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services, Inc. is seeking a bedside LPN to provide direct patient care in an Acute Nursing or Elderly Care setting, employing the nursing process to ensure safe, quality care and proper documentation.

The role supports the Charge Nurse in their absence, collaborates with the clinical team to admit and discharge patients, and keeps patients and families informed about medications, diagnostics and home care.

Qualifications

• Must have LPN license and CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in direct bedside care in acute or elderly settings is preferred.
• Ability to document patient care accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct bedside patient care and age-appropriate care in an acute or elderly care facility.
• Perform duties of Charge Nurse in absence of the RN, within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with clinical team to admit assigned patients to unit at bedside.
• Independently process discharges for assigned patients at bedside.
• Maintain written records of patient care events (medications, treatments, procedures).
• Educate patients and families about medications, diagnostics, treatments, and home care.
• Maintain knowledge of new medications and treatments for continuing care at home.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care.
• Attend daily unit huddles to ensure proper assignments and shift planning.
• Maintain competency through continuing education and adherence to policies.
